These are paintings, collage works on repurposed cedar and were completed when I first moved full-time to Bridgehampton in 2003. I was using discarded cedar shakes as palettes and eventually found my way to cutting them up and painting them further into landscape and seascape compositions. I was as impressed at the time by the activity of the local frozen winter bays, tidal surges, Summer fields, gardens and trees, which equally inform this work. These painting were first exhibited in 2004 at the Soho House in New York.
